The deadlock was finally broken in the 73rd minute when Michael Daly was left with a simple tap-in after a John Sweeney corner eluded everyone at the front post.

The visitors went close on several occasions but were unable to come up with an equaliser, ensuring their recent dismal record at Broadwood continues.

Clyde had the better of the early stages and almost took the lead on 10 minutes when a long throw-in was flicked by Pat Scullion past the static Grant who gratefully collected the rebound off the post.

The home side continued to carve out the better chances and almost took the lead when a Ryan MacBeth header drew a fantastic save from Grant.

A half-time shake-up, which saw Gielty replace Tulloch and slot in at left back with Hoskins moving to centre half, settled the Berwick defence.

The visitors then had their best chance when a quick one-two resulted in Lee Currie shooting over from 20 yards.

The game was becoming increasingly becoming bogged down in midfield when Clyde finally broke the deadlock on 72 minutes when a John Sweeney corner was missed by everyone at the front post, allowing Daly to slot home.

Just two minutes later Darren Laverty squandered a fine chance to equalise when he headed straight at Barclay from Gielty’s cross.

Rangers continued to press and saw a Lee Currie free-kick deflected wide, while Douglas Brydon headed wide.

Dean Hoskins was shown a deserved yellow card for a bad tackle on Stef McCluskey who hobbled off and was sent to hospotal for a scan.

Clyde then had the ball in the net for a second time but the goal was disallowed for offside.

As the clock ticked down, Morris went agonisingly close to grabbing a point for the visitors when his shot smashed into the post.
