Despite the passing of time however, should it be for the Hawick Legion first team or Legion Rovers, a now 34-year-old Fraser is still playing?
Fraser was indeed part of Legion’s triumph over Eyemouth Amateurs in the Waddell Cup last Saturday.
Speaking of his strong links with the Legion, Fraser said: “I started playing for the Rovers when I was 14 and got into the first team when I was 15. That was a long time ago but I have been with the Legion ever since, playing with both Rovers and the Legion and have never played for any other club.
“In 2005 I broke my leg playing against Hawick Waverley and was out of football for two years and this was a bit of a blow but thankfully managed to get back playing again. While at University for three years I didn’t manage to get regular games for the Legion but played when I could.”
Besides being a player Fraser has been involved with his beloved Legion in other ways, as club chairman and currently as secretary.
Speaking of the Legion first team’s season, Fraser said, “It’s been a disappointing season. We are in the bottom half of the league and not out of the danger zone. However, we are too good a side to go down. We are in the quarter-final of the Waddell Cup and it would be nice to reach the final and end the season on a happy note.”
