Bolton steps down as Chirnside FC co-manager

GRAHAM Bolton stood down as co-manager of Chirnside Football Club at their recent AGM, held at the Robins Nest, after 35 years as player and manager.

However, Graham will stay on the committee as vice chairman.

Gavin McLean will now take sole charge of the first team and Pete Morrison continues as manager of the Colts. Pre season training starts on July 20 at Comrades Park, 7pm prompt.

The chairman's, secretary's and treasurer's reports were read and next season's club office bearers and committee were elected: Chairman - David Jeffery; Vice Chairman - Graham Bolton; Secretary - Ian Black; Treasurer - Calum McAlphine; Committee - Gavin McLean, Pete Morrison, James Bolton, Chris Cowe, Alex Hurlow, Duncun Morrison, Jamie Stobie, Mark Kinghorn.

After five years of having no junior sides, Chirnside Football Club will be pushing hard to create the junior section again during the summer months.

Coaching has already begun on Friday nights at Chirnside Primary School where all age groups will be made most welcome, 6-7pm. Also any interest in helping out would also be made welcome.
