All the boys had a great day out on the Whinney Loch at Coldingham with instruction from the club members and advice from Kenny Galt from the Tweed Foundation.
The lads were given health and safety requirements before taking to the water. They also studied the fly and insect life of the loch. After a few casting lessons they took to the loch and everyone managed to catch at least one trout which they took home. The heaviest fish of the day was caught by Xander Wilson weighing 4lb and second heaviest by Euan Rhind at 3lb 12oz.
They would like to thank Dr Wise for the use of the Whinney Loch for the day and Kenny Galt for his help and advice.
This is just one of a number of initiatives undertaken by the angling association this season; they have also been active in cleaning up litter from a stretch of the river at Cranshaws, and placing seats on the riverside for anglers and walkers.
