We first reported on the application from Persimmon Homes for 46 properties at Heath Grange, south of Cheviot Avenue, in August and the plans were given the green light when they went before Scottish Borders Council’s Planning and Building Standards Committee last week.

Persimmon, along with the now defunct Hagan Homes, built 145 properties on land south of Cheviot Avenue in 2006 and planning consent was originally obtained for the new homes by the latter, but Persimmon took control of the 1.45 hectare portion of the greenfield site after they folded.

There will be a mix of detached, semi-detached and terraced low rise units built and all will have associated parking, 96 spaces in total.
