New headteacher for Berwickshire High School

JOHN Clarke has been appointed as new headteacher at Berwickshire High School replacing Rob Kelly who retired before the summer break.

Mr Clarke said: “I am absolutely delighted to have the honour of being the new headteacher at Berwickshire High School. I am excited by the challenges ahead and am very much looking forward to working with the whole Berwickshire learning community doing all that I can along with the teaching staff, support staff, parents and local children’s services to ensure that the young people of Berwickshire High School receive a high quality education.”

Glenn Rodger, director of education and lifelong learning, said: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank Rob Kelly for his contribution to education in the Borders, and for his long and loyal service. I would also like to warmly welcome John into his new post. We are at an important stage in the implementation of Curriculum for Excellence and his enthusiasm and input to this process will be very important.”
