Twelve employees from Oblo, Giacopazzis and The Tavern have all completed first aid training provided by local trainers Marriner Business Support.
During the training courses held at Oblo Bar and Bistro on Harbour Road they learned basic life saving first aid and the requirements of workplace health and safety regulations to allow them to be nominated first aiders.
Kerry Waddell, sales and marketing manager for Giacopazzi’s said: “We practiced on a manikin of an overweight person, because that is the most likely heart attack victim so we have an idea what it might feel like. It is certainly much harder than the usual model.”
Trainer, Rob Marriner, said: “They all passed with a recently reformatted qualification. We started delivering the new course this year, and have introduced new training material along with favourites like the ‘Fat Freddy’ manikin.”
