The high school students, all members of the library reading group, were keen to pass on their enthusiasm for reading to the younger pupils, and judging by the number of questions that were asked at the end of each story - ‘Ringo the Flamingo’ and ‘Owl Babies’ - they most certainly managed to get the younger children interested in the stories.

The visit, which proved to be a big success, was organised by high school librarian Anne Renstead in conjunction with primary teachers Mrs Horne and Mrs Delaney.

Afterward S3 pupil Millie said: “It was nice to make a connection with younger pupils who behaved so well.
