The ladies of Duns are sitting pretty this week after raising over £600 for Macmillan Cancer Support by holding a second-hand designer clothes and accessories party.

Anne Povey generously hosted the evening and alongside the sale of previously owned and loved dresses, there was great interest in the lucky dip with some wonderful prizes on offer.

The event was well supported with donations coming from as far afield as Singapore and many of the clothes had hardly been worn. What better than to re-cycle and to re-use whilst at the same time raising funds for such an important cause.

Macmillan Cancer Support provides invaluable support to those affected by cancer and more details about the services they can offer can be found at www.macmillan.org.uk.

Anne would like to thank those who took part and it is hoped to raise further money as unsold items have gone to a Cancer Research shop.
