Coldingham pharmacy application is withdrawn

THE controversial application for a new pharmacy in Coldingham has been withdrawn.

In a short statement issued on Tuesday, Calum Campbell, NHS Borders chief executive said: "NHS Borders Pharmacy Practices Committee has received notification that the application made by Unicare Pharmacy Ltd for a new pharmacy at Woodbine Cottage, School Road, Coldingham, has been withdrawn by the applicant.

"The applicant did not give a reason for withdrawing the application.

"We recognise the genuine concern this application raised within the Coldingham area and we would like to thank those members of the community who contacted us to express their views."

At a public meeting held in the village last month, local residents and others from surrounding villages, made it abundantly clear that they were opposed to the plan.
