The children had been learning the songs for the last few weeks, supported by music teacher Mrs Mutch and their class teachers Mrs Tharme, Ms Levy and Mrs Blyth. With some time spent working independently, the two schools also worked together to rehearse the musical element of this wonderful show.
Then, for one day only, the Scottish Opera team visited Coldingham and supported the children in transforming the lyrics they had learnt into a full musical experience.
“It was so much fun,” said one Coldingham pupil.
“I loved wearing the costume,” added a Cockburnspath pupil.
“Words can’t describe how fantastic this show was,” were the words of one audience member.
The schools would like to thank Youth Music Initiative for funding the entire experience.
