This was the third such event to be held at Eyemouth High, stemming from an idea which came from pupils about what kinds of things hey wanted to see held in their school.
With an audience of around 45, pupils performed in the Drama studio, which was set up like a cabaret club to give the right kind of atmosphere.
They sang a range of songs, with something for all ages, ranging from ‘Teenage Dream’ by Katy Perry to the classic ‘Silly Love Songs’ by Wings.
A few pupils sang with backing tracks, however many of them opted to sing acoustically and were accompanied by Alex McNeil, who very kindly gave up his spare time to rehearse and perform with the students.
It is hoped that an ‘Open Mic Night’ will feature every term next year raising more money for charity whilst giving pupils the opportunity to develop their confidence and performing skills.
Last month’s event raised a fantastic £182 for cancer charity ‘In Jimmy’s Footsteps’.
The pupils pictured alongside Alex McNeil are: Ailsa Landels, Sophie Ritchie, Hattie Fennell, Carly Robertson, Erin Robertson, Kirsty Doogan, Katie Dyson, Lara Ward, Hannah Ritchie, Mickael Alexander, Brooke Heary, Poppy Latham, Kianne Latham.
