Emerging Singer Rose Redd has been given the opportunity to break through in to the music business by using YHA Berwick on Dewars Lane as a one off venue for her tour on Sunday.

The 20 year old joins a number of young, unsigned musicians, including ‘Budapest’ hitmaker George Ezra, who are using YHAs to showcase their music to new audiences.

The red haired singer and her band began their tour at YHA Stratford-Upon-Avon, working their way through 10 YHA locations before finishing up at YHA Perrenporth in Cornwall.

Rose, who was born in Eastbourne but grew up in the West Midlands, has been song writing since the age of 12 and was inspired to pick up a guitar by Depeche Mode’s Martin Gore.

She is preparing to release her EP on August 28 and is currently producing a music video for her single her powerful new single ’Healing’ from the EP of the same name.

Her voice has been described as ‘A soulful powerhouse’ and ‘a blend of Amy Lee and Alison Moyet’.

It seems Rose’s nationwide jaunt is going very well so far as she took to her Facebook page at the weekend to say ‘can’t believe how amazing this tour is going!’.

As well as providing venues for artists to showcase their talents, it is also an opportnity for YHA (England and Wales) to reach out to young people and highlight incredible wealth of affordable adventure and accommodation on their doorstep and YHA is the gateway to exploring it.

YHA’s association with Rose Redd and other young artists is an exciting development in the youth hostelling charity’s 80-year history.

YHA is all about creating unique opportunities for young people and music is a great way to raise awareness of its network of amazing properties throughout England and Wales, providing affordable accommodation in the most exceptional and diverse locations.
