Undoubtedly one of the hardest hitting additions to Berwick Film & Media Art Festival’s 2013 programme is Norwegian film ‘Bravehearts’.
The documentary film from director Kari Anne Moe deals with the shocking events of July 2011 when a lone gunman opened fire on people at a youth camp, killing 69 of them.
It was a massacre that not only shocked a nation but the world and the way in which Kari Anne sensitively tackled the subject has won her praise worldwide.
I chatted to Kari Anne after a special screening of ‘Bravehearts’ for local school children, following which she conducted a Q&A with students.
Kari Anne spoke very highly of both her captive audience, the film festival and Berwick itself which she was enjoying exploring for the first time.
