Originally billed as a concert by the Northern Sinfonia, The Maltings can now boast its hosting a performance by the Royal Northern Sinfonia on Saturday after the group were given the title by Her Majesty the Queen last week.
Based at the Sage Gateshead, the Royal Northern Sinfonia are one of Europe’s most exciting orchestras. They will be represented at the show in the Henry Travers Studio by a string quartet comprising violinists Sarah Roberts and Sophie
Appleton, violist Malcolm Critten and cellist Daniel Hammersley.
The foursome will be joined by piper Alice Burn for the concert which starts at 7.30pm.
Tickets are priced at £12 and £5 children.
