Contemporary folk/acoustic duo Gilmore & Roberts are bringing their ‘stellar musicianship’ to the Etal as part of a nationwide tour.
Katrione Gilmore, from Hertfordshire, and Jamie Roberts, from Barnsley, began working together in 2006 and released their first full-length album ‘Shadows & Half Light’ two years later.
The talented pair have completed several headline tours themselves, astonishing audiences up and down the country and at some of Britain’s largest acoustic festivals with astounding lap-tapping guitar, fiery fiddle and their trademark harmonies.
Their last concert of the year on November 1 sees them return to Etal where they visited back in 2010.
That same year the duo were nominated for the BBC Radio 2 Horizon Award and released their hotly-anticipated second album ‘Up From The Deep’, which received national airplay and scored them a ‘Best Original Song’ Hancock Award for ‘Fleetwood Fair’.
In 2012 they were winners in the UK Songwriting Contest, Acoustic/Folk category with ‘Doctor James’ which also won them ‘Song of The Year’ in the 2012 Fatea Awards. Success continued in 2013 when they were nominated in the Best Duo category of the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.
Gilmore & Roberts are at Etal Village Hall on Saturday, November 1. Doors open at 7.30pm. Chief support comes from Doncaster duo Rita Payne. Tickets, £10, can be ordered from firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 01890 820566.
