American singer-songwriter Krista Detor is bringing her band to Seahouses for a house-concert this Saturday, May 3.
Krista hails from Indiana USA, and has become well established and respected as a serious singer-songwriter over her career spanning five albums.
Her latest album ‘Flat Earth Diary’ has just been released, and is receiving remarkable reviews and comments from critics.
It has been desctibed as a beautiful collection of music which intrigues and seduces, with gorgeous detail revealed in repeated listening.
Krista’s work has been singled out by The Guardian in a review which called the album ‘impressive & intriguing.’
Her previous solo albums have reached national and international prominence, including number one on the Euro Americana Chart and top 10 in the US Folk and Independent Music charts.
Krista has performed with such notable artists as Suzanne Vega, Joan Armatrading and Louden Wainwright.
She is also a returning guest lecturer at Stanford University, where her album ‘Chocolate Paper Suites’ is required reading for the literature course.
The house-concert in Seahouses is the latest in the series at St Cuthbert’s House, a restored former church and award-winning B&B.
