Greenlaw Festival might not officially start until Saturday but there’s already been plenty of fun going on in the village.
The event will be in full flow following the crowning of this year’s Greenlaw Maid, Megan Muir on Saturday.
Megan will be joined on the village green by senior attendants Rachel Denholm and Katy Watson and junior attendants Logan Carlin, Charlee Sherwood, Cody Redpath, Bethan Denholm, Jack Baxter, Taylor Brown ,Aiden Bradd and Jennifer McLean.
But lots of people have already played a keen part in festival-related activities.
The Dodecccacathlon always provides plenty of competition and this year has been no different. with create a cake, dodgeball, human skittles and bowling with a shock defeat for the Avenue Allstars.
Judging have also cast their eyes over the bevvy of scarecrows that have sprouted up in Greenlaw this week, with a record 26 entries.
The competition will conclude over the weekend which has a packed programme of family friendly events.
Friday night with see local brains put to the test in a quiz before dancing shoes are put on for a festival ceilidh on the green.
Following Megan’s crowning at 12.30pm on Saturday there is plenty to keep all ages occupied.
An exciting new addition for 2014 is an inflatable laser quest which will run alongside more traditional side shows such as coconut shy.
And going from the big top to the village green a group of circus performers will be in Greenlaw to showcase some circus skills.
The Dodeccacathlon will conclude in show stopping style with ‘Greenlaw’s Got Talent’ on Saturday evening while Sunday has a real animal theme.
First up is a teddy bear’s picnic at lunchtime which will be followed by a pet show before the duck race will bring the curtain down on the festival in traditional style.
