Two well known local faces will put their spin on ‘Wilson’s Tales’ for an evening of entertainment at Paxton House next weekend.
Anna Emmins, aka Electric Penelope, will give two performances of ‘The Ballad of the World’s Vanity’ at the Paxton Literary Festival on Saturday, September 7.
She has put the famous words to music especially for the event and her performances will be preceded by a new radio play by Robert Wilkinson, fresh from the success of his latest show ‘The Words in the Wires’.
‘Lord Kame’s Puzzle’ is also adapted from one of Wilson’s Tales as is ‘The Vacant Chair’ which will be performed by local storyteller Mary Kenny.
Anna’s take on “The Ballad of the World’s Vanity” was produced in association with the Wilson’s Tales Project, whose aim is to bring new life to a series of tales which were published in the 1800s.
She commented: ]“My song is a small part of the festival so it will be good to see what the other performers have done with the tales – I will be able to experience it without knowing what to expect.”
