EYEMOUTH Parish Church will host a a concert/service to commemorate the 1881 fishing disaster this Sunday, October 14, starting at 2pm.
Eyemouth Pipe Band will then lead named stones (representing each life lost) up to the memorial, bringing proceedings to a close at around 4.30pm.
During the event there will be performances from local choirs and drama groups and The Podlies and an appearance from Peter Aitchison will be reading extracts from his ‘Black Friday’ book.
Tickets, available from Occasions are £6 for adults and £3 for children. During the interval tea, coffee and tray bakes will be served.
All funds will go towards the Eyemouth Christimas Light fund (of which organisers have nearly hit the target).
