At the turn of the last century, the street you can see here housed over 90 people.
In the foreground can be seen Robbie Nisbet’s father’s shop, which had opened at these premises in 1895, and went on to act as the hub of the village.
The shop has since become a dwelling house.
Also no longer present are the wooden barrels lined along the street, which were used to collect rain water.
