Rugby player Scott Wilson was top of the bill when the Berwickshire Sports Awards for 2012-13 were held last week.

Wilson, who comes from Eyemouth, and who currently plays for Newcastle Falcons, was a member of the England U20 team which won the Junior World Cup in France during the summer.

Once again the awards evening proved to be a huge success with sports men and women in a range of activities, including football, tennis, badminton, athletics, triathlon, boxing and rallying, all being honoured.

Junior sports personality was badminton player Robbie Patterson. Team of the Year was Coldstream FC, top coach was Martin Wood of Chirnside Boxing Club, and the service to sport recipients were Keith Wilson (Duns Football Club) and Cis Redpath (tennis).

Special awards went to Chirnside Boxing Club, rugby player Iain Sim, rally driver Garry Pearson, Chirnside Chasers (athletics), athlete Freddie Rooke and disabled sports star Samantha Kinghorn.
