WHEN Berwick finalise plans for any racing in 2013 they will do so without Swedish rider and club asset Sebastian Alden, who has moved to Elite League Kings Lynn.

Berwick manager Ian Rae said he was ‘gutted’ at the news but understood the reason behind Alden’s decision.

He said: “Seb has been in discussions with us and for family and personal reasons feels he cannot commit to Premier League racing in 2013.

“This has meant him often being away from Friday to Monday each week and with more and more Premier tracks racing weekends it has not helped.”

Speaking before his move to Kings Lynn was confirmed, he added: “With this in mind he has expressed a desire to race full time Elite League and Berwick have circulated his name for transfer to all Elite clubs and one track is already in talks with him.”

Rae continued: “This is a blow to any team plans of course as Seb was in all our possible equations and is such a talented rider in the PL but we move on no matter what and we also push ahead to try secure the major sponsorship we need to cement plans for 2013.”

Alden was signed from Swindon in 2011. He was part of Berwick’s PL Fours winning team last season. He was unbeaten around Shielfield in his last four home meetings and was named the Supporters Club Rider of the Year.
