The 2015 ARR Craib Scottish Rally Championship blasts into action this weekend when the Arnold Clark Thistle Snowman Rally takes to the forests around the Highland capital on Saturday.
The local Highland Car Club organising team have attracted over 100 cars and crews from corners of Scotland for this 60th running of their annual motor sporting event.
Heading the entry list is five times Scottish Rally Champion David Bogie, co-driven by Hawick’s Kevin Rae, in their 1.6 litre turbocharged Ford Fiesta R5+. David proved last year that the Fiesta was a match for the 2 litre turbo runners – but it was close. Can Mike Faulkner (Mitsubishi) or Jock Armstrong (Subaru) catch the Ford this time?
Among the Borders competitors are: Ian Baumgart (Hawick) and Mike Dickson (Duns), Subaru Impreza; Carl and Rob Tuer (Alnwick), MG ZR S1600; Scott MacBeth (Rosemarkie) and Callum Atkinson (Lauder), Vauxhall Nova; Steven bellshaw (Fortrose) and Alasdair McIlroy (Jedburgh), Peugeot 205 GTi.
The Rally will start from Inverness on Saturday morning at 9am.
