Just 24 hours after beating Rye House at Shielfield, Berwick went down to a 21-point defeat against the Rockets at Hoddesdon on Sunday.
On this occasion it was the Bandits who were made to look second best, their only two race wins coming from Claus Vissing, on a double pointed tactical ride, and Steen Jensen, who was the only visiting rider to lower the colours of home number one Edward Kennett, who raced to a 17-point haul.
Jensen (7+1) was also the only Bandit to beat Steve Boxall (15+1), the Dane relegating him to third place in heat 15 after he had gone unbeaten in his first five outings.
And with Jason Garrity, who missed the meeting between the clubs the previous evening, weighing in with three paid wins, the Rockets quickly avenged their heavy defeat in the Borders.
After a first race 3-3, Berwick fell behind to a 4-2 in heat two, and after that the Hertfordshire club were never headed.
Two 5-1s in heats three and five put them 20-10 in front and after that it was all Berwick could do to hang onto the coat-tails, despite Kevin Doolan top-scoring for the visitors on 11+1, which included four points as a double-pointed tactical.
Berwick: Vissing 8, Bellego 2+1, Jensen 7+1, Doolan 11+1, Edberg 3+1, Kus 6.
