Berwickshire High School hosted the second Berwickshire Primary Schools’ Cross Country event last week.
Despite the bitterly cold day the youngsters, all from primaries 5-7, thoroughly enjoyed the event and ran brilliantly.
There were around 190 pupils competing, representing six schools taking part from both the Eyemouth and Duns areas (Duns, Greenlaw, Swinton, Chirnside, Eyemouth and Coldingham). There were six races over 2km around the grass pitches of the high school.
The event was run by active schools with help from teachers, schools staff, senior pupils and parents who were on a range of duties from starter line, place recording and route marshals. Without this help the event could not happen.
The runners who finished first, second and third in each race received a medal and the winning team from each race received a small trophy to keep.
