Dunbar sprint sensation Maria Lyle claimed gold and a new championship record at the 2016 IPC European Athletics Championships.
Lyle claimed the gold medal in a new best time of 14.45 from home favourite Oxana Corso, who finished in 15.28, on Sunday evening.
The teenager, who has cerebral palsy, was quick out the blocks and dominated the race from start to finish.
She tweeted: “Happy to have won the 100m out here in Grosseto, just a bit annoyed with the time! Thanks for everyone’s kind words.”
Lyle’s victory means she retains her title won in Swansea two years ago, and she has a chance to make it triple success later this week. She is among the favourites in the 200m event and she is part of the 4x100m relay squad that will race on Thursday
The event in Tuscany forms part of Lyle’s preparations for the Paralympics.
