Local curler Margaret Robertson struck gold at the Scottish Masters Championships held at Greenacres.
The event attracted 24 teams, who were split into four sections with the top teams progressing to the semi-finals.
Robertson, who comes from Berwick, and her Borders team came through the round-robin stages and in the semi’s beat off another team, also skipped by a Margaret Robertson, from Lanarkshire, by at 11-3 scoreline.
In the final they maintained their good form to defeat Team Barr with a convincing 6-1 scoreline to clinch the title.
Robertson is pictured receiving their trophy along with team-mates Venetia Scott, Gillian Smith and Liz Cullen.
In previous years Robertson has won bronze and silver at the event so to finally get the gold is a major achievement.
In the men’s semi-finals Team Hamilton negotiated their way past Team Henderson with a score of 5-4, scoring the single needed in the eighth end to secure their place in the final, while Team Nelson put on a dominant display in their semi to defeat Team Rutherford 6-1.
The men’s final was a close run affair between Team Nelson and Team Hamilton, the decisive end coming in the sixth when Team Nelson scored a three to take control of the game.
They added a further steal of one in the seventh end and went on to secure the title with a 7-4 victory. The team consisted of: Sandy Nelson, Willie Patterson, Alan Barr and Donnie Smith.
