Stefan Farnaby from Berwick, is pictured above shaking hands with Bandits’’ joint team manager Ian Rae after signing a contract to become a club asset.

Farnaby, who is 19, and who lives in Tweedmouth, has just agreed to ride for Buxton Hitmen in the National League, which is the third tier of speedway in Britain.

At Buxton he will team up with another Berwick-based rider - Liam Carr - who doubles up with the Bandits as well.

Farnaby only started racing speedway last year with Berwick’s Northern Junior League squad, but has this term already shown sufficient progress to warrant a place at NL level.
