Chirnside boxer Mark Tully impressed on the Leith Victoria ABC show in a rematch against Amer Ramzen of the home club.
Ramzen narrowly defeated Tully on the Chirnside show last month. And with Tully unlucky to be on the losing end of a split decision there, he came out fighting in Edinburgh, using his long reach and powerful straight punches to good effect, forcing a standing eight count in round two, and again in round three with the referee stopping the contest.
Chirnside veteran Michael Black also featured on the show, topping the bill against Ross Welsh. After a close first round, Welsh came out the stronger in the second. Black used his experience to get through the rest of the bout which he lost by a unanimous decision.
Michael was in action again on Saturday in a rematch against kick-boxing champion Paul Kean on the Dundee show. Kean, who won their last bout in May 2012, claimed another victory in an entertaining bout, winning by a unanimous points decision.
Eleven-year-old Caitlin Black has also been back in the ring, boxing a rematch against Shaira Robertson at the Springhill ABC show. There was lots of action from two talented girls, but the split decision went to Shaira.
Jack Grant and Bailee Noon featured on the Duries ABC show. Bailee defeated the home club’s Ryan O’Connell, while Jack Grant lost to Keiran Yardley by a split decision.
Marcus Owtram fought an exhibition bout against Jaber Abubaker of Dundee ABC. Owtram will make his official debut on the Sparta ABC show on Sunday, with Ben Grant also on the bill.
