Berwick played host to a round of the Hamilton Trophy bowls at the weekend when the Borders faced Midlothian.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t a happy hunting ground for the local side, who went down to their third straight defeat with a 111-130 reverse.
The Border play in the East Section of the competition, and they had got their season off to a flying start by winning their first two matches.
On the opening day they beat East Lothian 115-114, which they followed up with a 124-127 away win over West Lothian.
In their third game the lost 100-117 at home to Stirling East, before Edinburgh and Leith inflicted a 122-103 away defeat.
The defeat currently leaves the Borders seventh in the eight-team table, albeit only on shots difference.
The two leading sides, Edinburgh and Leith, and East Lothian, both have eight points with four victories, whilst all the other sides have four points.
This weekend, the Borders continue their season with an away match against Fife.
