Tillside 1sts celebrated a big win in the Northumberland Premier Division on Saturday when they had two batsmen hit centuries.
Toby Culham took all the plaudits with a fantastic score of 176, whilst team-mate Jake Birkett grabbed 108.
The Etal side posted a big score of 361-5, which enabled them to record a 205-run victory after they bowled the oppisition out for only 156.
Matthew Whitty claimed four of the wickets with Birkett taking three.
Also in the Premier Division Berwick 1sts went down to a narrow 34 run defeat away to Ashington Rugby.
Ashington batted first and put on 176 all out, with opener Michael Adamson their top scorer on 48. Adam Peacock added 26 and Paul Milburn 21.
Scott Middlemist did all the early damage for Berwick and finished with figures of 4-30, whilst Michael Shearer took 3-43.
Berwick lost opener Gregor Thompson for a ‘duck’ and it was an uphill struggle thereafter. Martin Hush and Mark Murray put on 22 and 23 respectively, before Shearer contributed 47, but the tail-enders just couldn’t see Berwick over the line.
Graham Whitworth was the pick of the home bowlers with 4-31.
Berwick 2nds kept the flag flying with a 127-run home victory over Whitley Bay 1sts.
Brian Simmons rolled back the years and hit a splendid 114 as Berwick posted a big score of 263-5, with Jordan Woodcock adding 45 not out and opener Iain Thomson 39.
Dougie Gregg took 3-50 and was the pick of the away bowlers.
In reply Whitley Bay saw Jonathan Loring score 44, but none of his team-mates could match his efforts and with Mark Woodcock weighing in with 5-33, the visitors were all out for 136 in 34 overs.
Warenford, who had lost top spot in Division 2, kept their promotion hopes alive with a convincing 144-run victory over Blue Flames.
Opener Daniel Patterson with 63 was the best home bat, whilst Ian Patterson added 40, Ryan Thompson 33 and Brian Thompson and Graham Rogerson both 29 as they put on a big score of 218-6.
In replay Blue Flames struggled to contend with the bowling of John Hogg, who finished with figures of 7-43, and with Zubair Ahmed their top scorer on 24, they were all out for only 74.
In Division 3 Wooler had a four wicket win over Gateshead Ethnic Minorities.
Zafar Iqbal hit 52 and Irfan Ullah 43 as Gateshead posted a decent score of 194 all out.
Andrew Aitchison and Robert Matthewson both claimed three wickets apiece for the Glendale side, who in reply saw Aitchison hit 76 not out, with Ian Clarke on 40 as they made 195-6, reaching their target in the 39th over.
Also in Division 3, Tillside 2nds had a five wicket win over Rock.
Rock batted first, but they were skittled for only 52, with opener Oliver Page their top scorer on 13.
Davy Robertson took 4-8 and Calum Bickerton 3-4 as Rock were dismantled in less than 23 overs.
On what was a good bowling wicket, the Tillside batsmen also struggled to make an impact, but they had more about them than their opponents with Jamie Farr on 16 and they passed their mark in a low-scoring fixture at 53-5 after 18 overs.
