Tillside 1sts recorded a four wicket win over Kirkley when the teams met in the Northumberland Premier League at the weekend.

Due to the weather, the match was restricted to 40 overs per side.

Kirkley batted first and they put in 159, being bowled out in the 39th over.

Opener Chris Smith top-scored with a knock of 39 off 81 balls, which included eight boundaries.

Cameron McGregor, with figures of 5-24 off six overs, was the pick of the Tillside bowlers.

In reply Iain Sim hit 39 and Gareth Hill 37 not out as the Etal side posted 162-6, passing their target in the 30th over.

Joe Turnbull took 2-41 off seven overs.

The match between Berwick 1sts and Blue Flames in the Premier League, which was due to be played at the Pier Field, was cancelled due to heavy rain.

Division 2 leaders Warenford also found themselves without a game when their fixture away to Blyth was also called off due to the weather.

In Division 3 Tillside 2nds also beat Kirkley when they recorded an 88-run victory.

In a match cut to 30 overs per side due to the conditions, Tillside batted first and put on a decent score of 163-3 with Law Atkinson hitting ten fours on his way to a top score of 67.

Dave Reay hit 32 not out and opener Keith Bickerton 29.

In reply Kirkley were all out for 75 with opener Andrew North their top scorer on 19.

Craig Robertson claimed 4-17 and Calum Bickerton 3-25 as the Etal side recorded a comfortable win.

Also in Division 3, Wooler lost by six wickets when they entertained Alnmouth, Lesbury and Howick at the Brewery Field.

Robert Matthewson hit 36 and Andy Gallivan 23 as the Glendale side batted first and made 109, being all out after 27 overs.

In replay, Richard Elliott hit an unbeaten 45 as Alnmouth passed their target at 110-4 in 27 overs.
