Busy time for Tweed Triathlon Club members at three events

Three members of the Berwick-based Tweed Triathlon Club competed in the recent Borders Sport and Leisure Trust triathlon series held at Hawick.

First club member home was Adam Fletcher, winning the male veteran age category and coming in a respectable sixth place overall.

His overall time for completing the 750m swim, 20.29km bike ride and 4.6km run was 1 hour 10 minutes 46 seconds.

Also competing was Steve Flook who completed the course in 1 hour 27 minutes 32 seconds who came 64th overall and Will McDermott in a time of 1 hour 46 minutes 35 seconds, finishing 117th out of a total field of 130 racers.

At the Great North Swim, an event held over three days in Windermere, Lake District, various distances were swam and Tweed Triathlon club member Neil Anderson completed the two mile course in 51 minutes 51 seconds finishing in 38th position,

Graham Simpson completed the same distance in a time of 53 minutes 11 seconds coming in 59th position and Will Davidson completed the 1 mile course in 35 minutes 55 seconds.

The Northumberland Triathlon saw the swim being held in open water at Druridge Bay on the coast.

Tweed Triathlon Club members Graham Simpson finished this, his first triathlon, in 1 hour 12 minutes 45 seconds, giving him an excellent 15th position overall,

Paul Brothwood finished in a time of 1 hour 26 minutes 45 seconds, coming in 79th out of a total field of 175.

The course consisted of a 750m swim, a 20km bike ride and a 5km run.
