This weeks club time trail was the first 15 miler of the season, another good turnout of 19 riderslined up on a cold, windy but sunny evening, the wind came across from the north and gave very little help to the riders on either leg, with many of the riders competing at the distance for the first time it was a night of personal bests.

Chris Istats took the win in 35.10 with Dom Blythe, showing great form after the club trip to Mallorca, in second in a new PB of 36.45 beating his old mark by nearly two minutes. Doug Robertson continued his excellent return to the club after a season off with third in 37.35.

This week’s race is the first 25 miler of the season, meet at Hutton crossroads, Thursday 6.30 for a 7pm start.

Andrew Scorey raced up at Ingleston on the same evening in the Edinburgh RC criterium series, taking his second win of the season. In the main race of the night he bridged a two man break after three laps, worked well with one of the riders and dropped the third man, Andrew took the 30 minute prime then continued to push on, holding a 12-15 second advantage for most of the race.

The pair increased the gap to 20 seconds in the last three laps. Coming into the last the corner Andrew closed a small gap after his partner had tried to jump him and came round to take the win on the night.
