The dates have been confirmed for David Bellego’s particiupation in the World U21 Final later this year.

And if everything goes according to plan it means the Frenchman will miss only one scheduled meeting for the Bandits.

The three-round event kicks off at Lonigo in Italy on Saturday, July 19.

This will be followed by two further meetings at Ostrow in Poland on Sunday, August 17 and in the Czech republic at Pardubice on October 4.

A statement issued by Berwick this week said: “Having confirmed our pride in David’s qualification to the FIM World U21 Championship Final, we can confirm the three rounds of this event only poses one clash with our own fixture list.

“We race Edinburgh at Shielfield on Saturday, July 19, but will have a rider-replacement facility that night, which, with our strength-in-depth 2014 squad, is not the handicap we could have faced in previous seasons.

“The club were always aware of David’s U21 ambitions in this, the last year of his underage qualification, when he was signed up again and are fully behind his chase for a world title.”

Bellego qualified for the Final a fortnight ago when he scored ten points in the qualifying round at Stralsund in Germany.

Bellego, who turns 21 today (Thursday, May 15) said: “This is my last chance to ride in the competition.

“It is a big year for me and I want to do well. Hopefully, it means I won’t miis too many meeting for the Bandits as a result.”
