Berwick have rung the changes by making two changes to their line-up.
The Bandits have swooped to sign England international Edward Kennett, who comes into the team as a direct replacement for the in jured Ricky Ashworth.
Ashworth, who has been out of action for several weeks after suffering concussion in two track accidents, has seen specialists, but with no timescale as to his possible return the club had to move quickly to fill the gap.
Kennett, who has been on form in the Elite League with Swindon, will continue to ride at that level, but had expressed a desire to also compete at Premier League level.
He will make his debut for the Bandits in the home meeting against Leicester Tigers on Saturday, when he will be joined by another new signing, Paul Starke, who comes in as a replacement for reserve Alex Edberg.
Team manager Ian Rae explained: “With Ricky unable to give us any indication of when he might return we realiswed we would have to make a change.
“We never for one minute imagined that we might land someone like Eddie, who is a top line Elite League performer.
“But he comes in on a high ten point average, which means we also had to make another change lower down the order to accommodate him and come under the 42.5 team limit.
“Alex has left and his place will go to Paul, who has been riding well in the National League and has been looking to move up.
“He rode with Newcastle in the second half of last season and did well, so he knows what the Premier League is all about.”
