Michael Reid of Carnethy was the winner of the Borders Cross Country Series for 2012-13.
Reid won four of the five races in the series which took in Lauder, Dunbar, Peebles, Paxton House (run by Norham RC) and Gala. A sixth leg at Spittal, due to be hosted by Berwick Harriers, had to be cancelled because of health and safety fears over the course.
Carnethy provided three of the top four male finishers, with Stewart Whittle third and Andrew Gilmore fourth, following runner-up, Scott Pilkington of Corstorphine.
Adam Fletcher of Berwick was the top local runner in eighth.
In the ladies the runaway winner was Charlotte Morgan of Carnethy, who had four wins and a second place from her five starts.
Kate Jenkins of HBT was second and Gillian Carr of Corstorphine third, with Jane Holmes of RunDuns the top local in 13th.
Junior male winner was Jack Stanners of Selkirk, who won three races, followed by Berwick’s Nathan Cox, who runs for Gala Harriers, who won the other two. Third was Thomas Otton of Gala. Top junior female was Zaynah Aziz of Selkirk, who had three wins. Runner-up was Sophie Collins of Moorfoot, who won two, with Ishbel Strathdee of Edinburgh AC in third. Cara Hogg from Berwick, who represented Gala, was the top local in sixth.
