A record turn-out of 58 riders tackled very testing conditions, the Wheelers finally fired on all cylinders taking second placed team on the night.

Twenty mile an hour winds greeted the riders to the turn which meant for a hard ride out but some riders then came back at speeds approaching 40 mph. The standout ride for the club was Joyce Mark whose 26.44 was only 40 odd seconds of her seasons best, when most riders were at least a minute down.

With just one round to go in Hawick, Berwick lie third but are within touching distance of Gala in second, with Kelso leading and looking virtually uncatchable.

Gill Caine took part in an Audax ride over 100km in East Lothian on the Sunday but the ride of the week came from Dom Blythe on the same day. Racing in the Malton Town Centre criterium in Yorkshire,

Dom was close to the front for most of the race, with two riders already off the front he took his chance with one lap to go of the 1 mile circuit, jumping away with the whole field chasing him he managed to hold them off for a fantastic third place, his first time on the podium.
