An excellent turn out of 21 riders were greeted with a sunny evening although it was a bit chilly by the time the racing was over and dusk was on its way.
The winter weekend training rides have brought no less than eight new faces to the club with six of them turning out on the night.
The five miler was a new distance to many so personal best were assured throughout the field, Andrew Scorey filled the first new club record for the year with his 11min 30 sec ride, Steve Rowley took second just beating 25 mins and Doug Slater cam in just 7 seconds back in third.
Next weeks race (Thursday) is the first 10 miler of the year, riders meet at Hutton crossroads nr Paxton 6.30 for a 7pm start.
