Rangers lost at home to local rivals Highfields. Kieran Cromarty, Lee Dodd and Jack Strangeways were on target for Tweedmouth, but Highfields stole the win with goals from Simon Hargreaves, who netted a hat-trick, and Jay Daglish.
Shilbottle, meanwhile, stretched their lead at the top of the table with a 5-1 away win over North Sunderland, putting them nine points clear of Bamburgh, who moved up to second after their 3-2 away win over Rothbury.
Josh hay bagged two for Shilbottle, with Liam Brookes, matthew and Chris Graham also on target. Robert Scott was the North Sunderland goalscorer.
Two Johnny Johnson goals and a single strike from Gareth McCann helped Bamburgh take the spoils against Rothbury, whose goals came from Chris Coe.
The only other first division game saw Red Row Welfare beat Berwick side Springhill 3-0, with Ben Lillburn, Sean Palmer and Marc Nixon all finding the back of the net.
In the second division, where newcomers Wansbeck have already secured the championship, Lowick United secured second place with an impressive 8-0 home win over Lynemouth. Mark Dunlop hit three with Kevin Greshon bagging two and single strikes from Alan Thompson, Sam McMullan and 16 year-old debutant Ben Fairbairn.
Craster edged a narrow match 3-2 away to Duns with Shaun Toal netting at the treble. The Duns replies came from Kieran Renton and an own goal.
Alnmouth United saw off Hedgeley Rovers 3-1 with goals from Judd Donohoe (2) and James Woollet.
And Amble St Cuthbert coasted to a 7-1 away win over Amble with Reece Ramsay grabbing a hat-trick. Their other goals came from Liam ramsay, Connor Smith, Joseph Henderson and Ethan Iredale.
