Duns left Edinburgh empty-handed on Saturday when they went down to a disappointing 4-0 away defeat at the hands of Tynecastle in the East of Scotland League.

There was not a lot between the sides in the opening 45, but Tynecastle managed to find the net and at half-time the visitors trailed 1-0.

Some 11 minutes into the second half Duns had an opportunity to get back on level terms when they were awarded a penalty.

Des Chisholm stepped up to take the spot kick, but his effort was saved by the home keeper.

Tynecastle immediately went on the attack and added a second to strengthen their advantage.

After this the Duns’ heads went down, conceding a further two goals in a disappointing defeat

*Midfielder Shane McGregor has been released by the club. Berwick lad Shane joined the club last season and made 36 plus 10 appearances for the club scoring 1 goal from the spot in pre season back in July.

The club wishes Shane all the best in his future.
