Positions were reversed at the top of Division One in the North Northumberland League after the top two clubs met at Ashington.

Michael Freathy and Chris Philips both scored for Wansbeck AFC but goals from Ryan Taylor, Andrew Murray and Matthew Robson gave Alnmouth the points with a narrow 3-2 victory.

Lowick United also moved up a place after goals from Paul Fairley and Charlie Warcup gave them the points with a 2-0 home win over local rivals Tweedmouth Rangers.

Ronnie Warwick, Ben Lillburn, Darren Smith and Kevin Bell were the Red Row marksmen in a 4-0 home win over North Sunderland.

The only other game in the first division was scheduled between Rothbury and Highfields United, but this was postponed on Friday because of the heavy rain which resulted in a waterlogged pitch.

Only two games survived the weather in Division Two and at Lynemouth Anglers the home team scored through Gareth Lewins but it was Craster who took the win thanks to a Shaun Toal brace and single goals from James Woolett , John Mowbray and John Mowbray, the final score being 1-5.

New boys Eglingham FC are finding life hard in their first season as they conceded seven times at home to Wooler Reserves. Kyle Jeffrey hit a hat-trick for the Glendale side with Robert Mathewson, Johnny Porteous , Oliver Allan and Ross Tait the other Wooler marksmen .
