HEARTS OF LIDDESDALE 1
Greenlaw travelled to Newcastleton to face bottom of the league side Hearts of Liddesdale knowing that three points was essential if they are to stay in the A division for another year.
Greenlaw had a few chances through Mark Long, Jay Patrek and Robin Brown. The best chance fell to Paterek who calmly took it around the keeper only to be chopped down at the edge of the area.
Liddesdale always looked dangerous and were unlucky when they struck the bar. They did, however, go ahead with minutes of the first half remaining when another long range effort looped into the top corner.
In the second half Greenlaw upped the pace and after 60 minutes Long got the equaliser.
William Smillie then rounded the keeper for Paterek to score into an empty net to give them the lead and with 15 minutes to go a third goal was added when Long burst through and hit a shot which the keeper couldn’t hold andPaterek netted from close range.
