After two weekends off Greenlaw were eager to get back playing. With new signings Grant McFadzean, Ryan Weir and Andrew Douglas making their debuts Greenlaw had a very strong squad going into the game.
The away side started the stronger and had Greenlaw pinned back for the first 10 minutes. Greenlaw then found momentum and started causing a lot of trouble through Luke Turner and Mark Long down the left. Linton did have their fare share of chances though and some great keeping by Jono Gall and defending by Sean Spoor kept it all square going into half time.
The visitors took the lead after the half from a long range free kick.
Ross Smillie and Kevin Wymess came on for the home side and the game changed. Greenlaw created a lot of chances down the right with William Smillie going close on a few occasions. The equaliser finally came with 10 minutes to go when Jay Paterek rose above the Linton defence and headed home from a Spoor cross to take the game into extra time.
After only a few minutes of extra time Gall had an excellent save at his near post, but in doing so he disclocated his thumb and had to go off. It fell to Greenlaw manager Lawrie Dunn to put the gloves on from the resulting corner he pulled of an amazing save.
Greenlaw bagged the winner after Mark Long hit a great shot which the keeper could only palm out into the feet of William Smillie who made no mistake with the finish to make it 2-1.
