Gordon are through to the third round of the Scottish Amateur Cup after two Craig Livingston goals helped them see off their Fife opponents in a second-round replay at Stewart Park.
Alan Jackson and Jimmy Bell were also on target for the home side, who will now go into this weekend’s Wright Cup final against Jed Legion full of confidence.
The Gowks conceded a late equaliser the previous week, and were determined to get the job done second time of asking in the 90 minutes.
Gordon started the brighter of the two sides and Livingstone was put through by Alan Jackson, but he shot was straight at the keeper who parried away.
The same combination set up Gordon’s next chance with Jackson crossing for Livingstone to power a header towards the bottom corner, but the keeper pulled off a tremendous save tipping it round the post.
Kinglassie tried to get into the game, but the Gordon defence, marshalled by the returning Alan Redpath, stood firm.
Gordon took the lead after 20 minutes when Jackson headed the ball over the defender and then sent a half volley in to the bottom corner to give the Gowks the lead.
Gordon continued to press the Kinglassie defence and Andy Baird caused all sorts of problems down the left creating chances for Gavin Brown, Livingstone and Euan Brown. The second goal came just before half time. Baird was the provider for Livingstone to be sent clear. He cut inside and powered the ball in to the bottom corner.
The second half was evenly contested for the first 20 minutes until Gordon grabbed their third.
Baird was again the provider, dancing past two defenders before delivering an inch-perfect cross for Livingstone to drill home.
Gordon created three or four great chances to add to their tally but the new boots of Gavin Brown were not enough to help his composure in front of goal.
Kinglassie never gave up they got their just reward in the 85th minute when Nigel Doag switched off and the No9 sidefooted past the helpless Anderson.
With minutes remaining Gordon added the fourth when Baird skipped past three defenders and fired in a right-foot shot which the keeper could only to parry to the feet of Jimmy Bell. He prodded home from six yards.
The third round is scheduled to be played on Saturday November 2.
