Eyemouth battle on despite set-backs

Eyemouth, after a traumatic few weeks, travelled through to Edinburgh with only 11 players for this match, and returned with a morale-boosting victory to their credit.e

They chased and harried throughout the game and at times it was difficult to tell which was the Premier League side.

Eyemouth took the lead with a 25 yard strike from Sean Phillips after 15 minutes.

They pushed on from this point and Johnny Waugh added a second when he beat the keeper from inside the six yard box.

After the break Eyemouth continued to make most of the running and they extended their advantage further when James Wilson netted a third.

The Strollers pulled a goal back with 15 minutes to go, but United did not let it fluster them and they saw the game out for a deserved victory.

Whilst all the lads played well, start performers for the Fishermen were Phillips and Collin.

Eyemouth are now using the remainder of the Qualifying League as an extended pre-season to build up for the league.

Eyemouth: Mutch, Wood, Jess, Spiers, Windram, Wilson, Bullen, Adamson, Phillips, Collin, Waugh.
