Duns recorded their first home victory against Kelso in an incredible 65 years when they beat them 2-0 at home on Saturday.
Back at New Hawthorn Park for the first game since last October, Duns scored either side of half time to take the points.
In fairness the majority of the first half belonged to the home side but to their credit the visitors weathered the storm until four minutes before the interval when Jordan Lauder struck putting the home side ahead at the break.
The Dingers flew out the blocks after the break and with only two minutes of the half recorded, Stevie Shennan was at it again with a deft touch at the back post to record his 13th league goal of the season.
Kelso, however, did not lie down and for the rest of the half belied their league position with a spirited performance which at times had Duns on the back foot, resulting in the last 10 minutes with a shot which many in the ground were just waiting to nestle in the bottom right hand corner of the Duns net, only to watch it strike the base of the post with an audible thud before being put away to safety.
Duns played some nice passing football and were never in any danger of losing,.
An honourable mention for the Tweedsiders’ keeper, who worked manfully all afternoon making a succession of saves to thwart the many balls which continued to rain in on him.
