Duns paid the price for a lacklustre first half performance, and a missed penalty, in this East of Scotland Qualifying League match which had been switched to Duns due to the Albert Park pitch being unplayable.

Too many players under performed and allowed the visitors to dominate and take a 2-0 interval lead.

The second half saw manager Carl Hudson make his changes with Stewart, Renton and Shennan replacing McHoul, Chisholm and Sherry and Duns performance and desire changed.

As the performance was turned up the visitors were put under increasing pressure and a blatant hand ball in the box saw Stevie Shennan dispatch the resultant spot kick.

Hawick lost their shape and composure and referee Hanlon sent two of their number from the field.

With the numerical advantage Duns continued to press for the remainder of the game, but couldn’t find the winner and ultimately paid the price for an earlier saved spot kick from Jordan Ainslie.
