CRAIGROYSTON 3, COLDSTREAM 1
Two quick-fire goals midway through the first half put Craigroyston firmly in the driving seat in this game.
Last season’s two promoted clubs battled out a decent game of football, but despite a Streamers resurgence early in the second half, which saw the Berwickshire side half the deficit with half an hour to play, the Edinburgh side ran out worthy 3 - 1 winners to move up to second place behind early pace setters Stirling University.
The game began with both sides creating chances. Craigroyston’s Craig Dickson almost broke the deadlock within two minutes of the kick-off, but his shot sailed over the crossbar. At the other end, Lawrie Cannon unleashed a sweetly hit shot, but unfortunately it hurtled just past the post.
The home took the lead when Mark Walters made a fine save, but Stewart Adams headed in the loose ball.
Less than a minute later the lead was doubled as John Dunn calmly slotted past the advancing Walters.
The visitors got a goal back through Sean Simpson, who tapped home a Lambert cut back. With a leveller looking on the cards, Punton headed wide and Cannon was inches away from toe poking one home.
Craigroyston, however, rallied and Dunn ran through to seal the victory with his second and a third goal for the Edinburgh side
